10.30 Wins BBS “Fall Shootout”

It was a beautiful weekend of fishing, family & fun at this year’s BBS Fall Shootout on Lake Sam Rayburn. This tournament had a total of $200,000 guaranteed payout in cash & prizes. Brandon Hohenstein of Aubrey, TX weighed in his 10.30-lb big bass on day 2 during the 12-1 Bonus Hour winning him $2,000 plus the 1st Place overall win and the keys to a 2022 Phoenix 919 Pro XP powered by Mercury, equipped with Minn Kota Trolling Motor, Lowrance Electronics, Navionics, Power Pole and X2 Power Batteries. Brandon’s total winnings valued at over $66,400

The Overall Top Five rounded off with 2nd Place Overall going to Shane Calvert of Cold Springs, TX with his 9.42; 3rd Place Overall went to 18-year-old Tator Reynolds of Florien, LA with his 9.24; 4th Overall – Joshua Price of Temple, TX with his 9.15 and 5th Place Overall went to Lawrence Bias of Lufkin, TX with his 9.00

The tournament guarantees the contestant(s) who weights in the first 3.00 and 4.00 exact weight bass each day of the tournament will be awarded $2,500 each. This year no one weighed in an exact weight bass during the 2 day event. Therefore, four drawings of $2,500 each were conducted at Sunday’s awards ceremony among all anglers entered into the event and the four lucky winners were: Bryan Landers of Bryan, TX; Levi Mettlen of Diboll, TX; Peter Pate of Channelview, TX and Samuel Roe of Springfield, LA.

The Famous BBS Elimination Drawing for a fully rigged Phoenix 819 Pro powered by Mercury, equipped with equipped with Minn Kota Trolling Motor, Lowrance Electronics, Navionics, Power Pole and X2 Power Batteries valued at $52,500 was won by Ocey Johnson of Cleveland, TX.

At this year’s Big Bass “Fall Shootout” $4,000 was raised for the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
